Astrid Alcayaga

Astrid Alcayaga (Havana, Cuba, 1974) is a self-taught visual artist of Chilean descent, based in the United States since 2005.

Her work navigates the space between symbolism and abstract expressionism, exploring themes of identity, memory, and the contemporary female experience. Through a dynamic interplay of color, texture, and form, she blends figurative elements with expressive abstraction, creating compositions driven by emotional depth and personal narrative.

Alcayaga has exhibited internationally, including at Museo La Celestina in La Puebla de Montalbán, Spain (2019). Her solo exhibitions include Moderna Comunicación (Gran Logia de Santiago de Chile, 2015) and Mujer Luna (Vargas Gallery, Miami, in collaboration with Vargas University, 2016).

Her work is part of the private Rodríguez Collection at Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas (MoCA-Americas).
